Back Pocket 27 Club
This is a series of four pocket-size notebooks commemorating four musicians who all died at age 27 - hence the name of the collection. On the front cover of each notebook is a drawing of the musician - Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix or Jim Morrison - and on the inside of the front cover are notes about their life. The front cover image is repeated on the inside of the back cover, so if you so desired, you could remove the cover and have the image and the notes alongside one another.

Okay, enough of the nuts and bolts... what are they like? Well, the paper is pretty good, even for a wet nibbed fountain pen. There's a smidgen of feathering with a very wet nib, but for the vast majority, all will be well. I accept that I am probably fairly alone in writing in a 1.1 mm stub nib with the wettest inks around as my norm!
If you're a fan of pencil, the paper is superb. The paper has enough texture/tooth not just for fountain pens, but to make writing in pencil in the notebooks a superb experience.
I like the fact that the dots aren't actually dots but small crosses on the page. I don't care that there's no page numbering and (somewhat unusually for me) I like the square edges to the paper. Although I'm more of a fan of rounded corners, I don't think the overall look would have been right with them on this notebook.
These were released as a special edition and if you're quick, you may still be able to snap them up from Nero. At £15 for the set of four, they won't break the bank and as a set, they're pretty cool!
