...and it's goodnight from me

by Amanda Fleet

Many, many moons ago, I 'met' Stu during a Twitter-based evening discussion about writing (Oh, those were the days! Twitter could almost be described as nice and supportive at times back then!). I have never actually met him in real life, though we have Skyped many a time.

We were both looking for 'a writing buddy' at that Twitter discussion - someone to bounce ideas around with; someone to critique our work etc. We agreed to swap ~5000 words of our current books, and give each other feedback. After that, we became friends, realised we shared a love of good stationery, fountain pens, ink, and proper letters, and have now been writing to each other for more than a decade.

Along the journey, Stu bought Pocket Notebooks (as was) and asked me to write posts and review things for the website, to which I readily agreed! Scrib and I have been amongst the first to get our grubby paws on new stationery, to put it through its paces before it went on the site. For stationery-lovers, this has been heaven.

I've been introduced to some brands I would never have known about had it not been for Stu, confirmed my dislike of some brands (and notebooks sizes), and managed to convert at least some of the team to my love of the larger notebook.

I am genuinely sad to see the end of Nero's Notes. But as Scrib said, everyone involved can be rightly proud of it all. A huge thanks to Stu, for asking me to write, and for letting me play with so many fine products. And a huge thanks to Clare, who has done an absolutely amazing job over the years.

We're into the last few days now... please grab a bargain before it's too late. Last orders are Thursday 30th.

Signing off...
